About Ruralwomyn	English (USA)
Ruralwomyn is the online community behind the Rural Womyn Zone web site. We use the Internet to overcome the geographical and other barriers that prevent most of us from ever meeting face to face. It allows us to share our experiences as rural women and explore the concept of "rural women" as a group. Topics range from all aspects of daily living to substantive issues, how they impact women, and more specifically, women in the rural U.S. Members must currently live in a rural area and bring a rural perspective to discussions. You do not have to identify with the women's movement or with feminism in order to belong to this group. But the list assumes the validity of the women's movement and explores the gap between feminism and rural women's experiences. The list is not open to those who have only an academic or professional interest in rural women's issues, or who have a primarily urban perspective.
Using Ruralwomyn
To post a message to all the list members, send email to ruralwomyn@ruralwomyn.net. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Ruralwomyn
Subscribe to Ruralwomyn by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. (Note that this is an umbrella list, intended to have only other mailing lists as members. Among other things, this means that your confirmation request will be sent to the `-owner' account for your address.) Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
